The origins of Prospect Coaches can be traced back to 1956 when our founder Geoff Watts and his wife, Ruby, bought Prospect House on Cemetery Road, Stourbridge. Together, they renovated the property and began trading as a general store. The name Prospect Coaches alludes to the company's roots at Prospect House. 

The following year, Geoff established his first transport business after purchasing a 'London' black cab (the minimum fare at the time was two shillings six pence!), which was operated from the taxi rank in Stourbridge. With a growing family of four children to support, he soon expanded his enterprise, purchasing minibuses which were used to deliver dinners to local schools.

In 1964, history was made as Geoff purchased his first coach – a Sedan. The business later moved to C & V Garage at King St. Wollaston - a series of double decker buses were then added to our burgeoning fleet. As we continued to grow, we bought many local companies, including established names such as Favourite Coaches, High Street Lye and Deluxe Coaches of Enville Street Stourbridge to name just a few. We initially rented the premises of Hayes Coaches, but later bought the property and our company still trades from this address to this day.

These businesses were purchased in addition to the day-tripping licenses required to transport holidaymakers to their destinations; following the deregulation of the transport industry in the 1980s, these licenses were no longer required.

Today, Geoff continues to oversee the business as the majority shareholder however the day to day running is now carried out by his daughter Rosylnd (Managing Director) and her son Nathan (Operations Director). Together, they bring a mulititude of experience from roles outside the industry and over 60 years combined experience within it. Ably supported by a growing management team with experience in all walks of the passenger transport, tourism and security industry's and continue to drive the company forwards. During the unprecedented times of COVID-19 the team have modernised all systems, going paperless where possible.

The majority of our work is now concentrated in the education sector, although we also provide luxury corporate, international, sports and leisure travel.
